2025 Plans – An update… and a roundup

TinaStrange Avatar

When I initially wrote my 2025 Plans post, the plan was to review the progress quarterly. However, March came and I was deep into a challenging assignment; then June came, and it was suddenly August. And then even August passed. In December, I started going through the projects for my 2025 round up post, and suddenly it’s already February…

Let’s get it done before another year passes…

I will be reviewing the post I wrote back in January, and check what I have started, dropped, and finished.

Cross Stitch

Not much done there…

  • Start: 1/1
  • Finish: 0/4
  • Total: 1/5

There are 4 projects in the list to finish, and I finished none. However, the one project to start was started, Happiness Potion by Daily Cross Stitch, and (shockingly) finished.

Sewing
  • Start: 1/2
  • Finish: 0/1
  • Total: 1/3

Another summer came to an end, and the summer dress is still not done… I’m stuck at updating the pattern pieces. On the other hand, I finished the skirt, even if I used cotton canvas instead of corduroy.

CROCHET
  • Start: 2/3
  • Finish: 0/0
  • Total: 2/3
  • Unplanned: 1

Crochet was the most successful in terms of sticking to the plans, I’ve planned three things, and started and completed two.

1. Easy Crochet Hat by Nicky Blade for my brother:

Blue ribbed hat with a grey label on the folded edge

2. Mushroom Guy by Stephanie Buckner: totally influenced by Reddit.

Crocheted plushie with a pink body, big black round eyes, a darker pink ruffle around the neck, and a mushroom shaped hat in mauve.

But I also started an unplanned project: the #MoonlightMagicCAL with Hobbii, which I haven’t finished as I had a bunch of assignment.

KNITTING
  • Start: 1.5/2
  • Finish: 1/2
  • Total: 2.5/4
  • Unplanned: 2.5

Knitting was productive too, even though I haven’t stuck to the plans and added some unplanned projects, which I’ve mostly finished.

  1. Brioche Basic Beanie by Marilynn Blacketer: a second hat for my brother, and a new technique for me. I ended up making two of these hats, one for my brother in green, and one for me, in black and white.

This was the only project from the plans I completed. The others were all unplanned.

  1. MissMarple Scarf by SusanneS-vV: this was a present for a friend’s birthday. Very quick knit using Irish wool by Studio Donegal.
  2. Free fall-tank by Artesanitarium Designs. I wanted something summery but also a bit more metal-ish.
  3. Ananke by Audrey Borrego: this count for the 0.5. Because I finished it, then frogged the upper part as I didn’t like how it fitted me. However, since summer was then over, I haven’t finished it yet.

Not too bad, especially because I’ve been wearing all my makes consistently, also because of these not being my only hobbies… I’ve also still been trying to keep making art and exploring new mediums, including oil painting. And recently, I’ve also picked up a brand new non fibery hobby , because why not, and also I have been searching for 3D printers way too often….
