Updates

I haven’t written one of those update post in a little while. The reason I was writing them was to keep track of the WIPs so I wouldn’t get distracted too much. I have to say I got slightly better at finishing things, I’ve also been a bit more monogamous, which means I have slightly less concurrent projects. The current knitting obsession also helps.

But let’s do a round up on what’s going on in my craft room.

WIPs
Astrid Minidress

I’ve knitted the front and back up to the armpit, so I could make sure I was on the right path. It worked up quite quickly, just with minor modifications from my initial plan, so next step is to figure out the body.

Stegosweater

I’m knitting this for a friend. It’s going meh because I made a mistake after the other, nothing wrong with the pattern, just me having not enough attention span for colorwork. I also had to switch size after the yoke as it turned out it was too small, so lots of math there. I wonder now if it would have been better to frog it all? Anyway, split for the sleeves now, let’s see how it goes.

Catberus

Still going slowly. I told myself I’ll finish it by Halloween… Let’s see…

FOs

Since it’s been a long time from the last update post, I do have a few finished objects, so I’ll just list a few from the top of my head.

Crochet Pumpkin

I needed a break from big projects, so I picked up cotton from Sostrene Greene and made a little pumpkin.

Pumpkin pattern is from 5 Little Monsters, leaf and vine from another blog, which unfortunately I didn’t bookmark…

Kuutar Top

My first summer make! Read more in this post.

Salty Days Sweater

This took me months to finish! I didn’t use the suggested fiber, so as I worked on it I thought it was going to be a fail, that I would hate it because it was coming out too boxy… but instead it became my favourite sweater 😅 it’s super comfy and warm: I actually like the looser fit. I’ll write about it more in the next episode of Knitfluenced.

A New Blind

This is blind number 3, in mauve cotton canvas, to match my bedroom color scheme, and I have again modified it a bit. I have been writing and updating a post each time I finish one, but since I’m trying to write it in a more of a tutorial format, it’s been a bit challenging as I’m really improvising a bit. I’m planning one more curtain, in green cotton canvas for the other room, so it will be the trial run for my tutorial post which hopefully will be eventually published.

Mountains Mural

Talking about the other room, I gave it a glow up with a coat of paint and a mural. I have to be honest: I highly doubted I would have been able to pull it off, the paint roll was ready to cover the failure with a coat of paint.
