I’m a bit behind with my Knitfluenced blogging as my blogging focus was to get my new blog online, so I have a whopping 2 FOs…
Let’s talk about my only summer knit, the Kuutar top by Sari Nordlund. which even went international with trips to Las Vegas and Prague. I don’t have pictures to prove it, but being made on 100% cotton made it perfect for the unbearable heat in both cities.

How I made it
I can’t remember if I met gauge exactly, but I made some adjustments so it fits me better.
At first I followed the instructions for the underarm, but it was too big, so frogged and casted on only 10 (5+5) for each underarm and didn’t change to bigger needle. To be completely honest, I did initially changed to the bigger needles, knitted 3 rows, and then switched back to the smaller needles when joining. This wasn’t a great idea, as I could see clearly a line, but I hoped that blocking would sort it out. It did partially, but if you look closely enough, you can still see it… lesson learned.
Then I wanted to make it longer and give it some bust shaping, so I didn’t follow the increases in the pattern, but tried it on regularly and increased accordingly.
How I wear it
The reason why I wanted it longer was because I wanted to wear it with leggings, so it would cover my arse.
It also looks quite nice under a denim jacket, as the lace pattern makes it very interesting.
Will I do it again?
Definitely!
The lace pattern kept me interested, and the pattern was easy to follow. The designer has a video tutorial on YouTube that helped me whenever I wasn’t 100% sure, since there were a few techniques I hadn’t tried before, including the i-cord and i-cord bind off.
It is also a perfect garment for summers, I love wearing tank tops as I don’t like sleeves, and the shape makes it suitable for the office too. I’m just not sure what color to make it next… But with colder days starting now, this is going to be a problem for next spring as I focus on cozier knits.
See you in the next episode!
