I’ve started my painting adventure on the weekend of the 18th of September… and I finally finished on the 4th December.
A few mistakes here and there, but it’s now looking good. Yeah, I know… the doors are still to be painted, but they are not *exactly* part of the hallway, are they?
What took so long was sanding the trims, skirting boards, and door frames. I could have used the primer and undercoat straight away, but I was concerned that the shitty layer of paint would peel once I painted in a nice color.
I also had to fix the bit of a mess here and there where the paint stripper stripped too much, and that’s where the already mixed wood filler came very handy. It’s not perfectly fixed, but it’s good enough if I look the other way.
If I had to rate my work in the hallway, it would probably be something on the lines of glorious mediocrity. But hey, now it’s done, and I’m pretty proud of it overall.
So, what’s next?
Getting some furniture to reorganise the hallway: a stool, some storage, a shoe rack and coat hanger.
What’s next next?
A small mirror upcycle project I’ve been postponing since too busy sanding.
And after? Doors? Sanding? That’s something for 2022.
