Bathroom Makeover: Mosaic Mirror

TinaStrange Avatar

Jaysus…. two months since the last post. I’ve been keeping myself busy with a variety of projects, which excluded blog writing (obviously).

The bathroom makeover is finally getting at the finish line. Only a few more details, including sealing properly the shower, and obsessing about what to hang on the wall. But I completed a small upcycle project, and it gave an uplift to the overall appearance of the bathroom.

I’m not great at taking pictures, and taking pictures of mirrors in a weird bathroom makes it even harder.

I don’t remember exactly where I saw it for the first time, but it’s very simple, you just need:

  • a mosaic tile: mine is from Home Base, but it seems most DIY shops have them.
  • some glue: mosaic glue by Pattex (found in Lidl)
  • a bit of tape: not necessary, but I had some from my painting adventure, and I wanted to give some support to those tiny tiles while the glue was curing.
  • patience

The bathroom is now almost completed, few last touches. But it’s probably my favourite room now because it’s tidy, neat and organised.

The kitchen rail is probably the thing I’m most proud of: a simple thing that keeps everything tidy and off the floor and sink. It’s the Hultrap kitchen rail and accessories from Ikea. And with a few foldback clips, it can be used to hang different bits and bobs: I used one for the toothpaste.

I’m now working on some cross stitch art to hung in the bathroom, here’s a sneak peek, while I got back into sewing, so my sewing corner is getting organised (with more kitchen rails…). More to come!
